Continuing Education Credits / Continuing Professional Development

Physicians enrolled and participating in the Maintenance of Professional Standards Program (MOPS) at the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP: Sydney, NSW, Australia; Wellington, New Zealand) may receive 0.5 points per hour, for up to a maximum of 20 points, towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for attending the IADMS meeting. The 17th Annual Meeting (Thursday - Saturday) provides 17 hours (8.5 points) towards CPD.  Special Interest Groups Day provides 4.0 hours (2.0) points towards CPD.  Physicians must apply individually.  Further information can be found at www.racp.edu.au

Physicians enrolled with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP: South Melbourne, VIC) are eligible to receive Category 2 CPD points.  Physicians may receive 2 points per hour, for a maximum of 30 points. The 17th Annual Meeting (Thursday - Saturday) provides 17 hours (34 points) towards CPD.  Special Interest Groups Day provides 4.0 hours (8.0) points towards CPD.  Note that 30 points is the maximum that can be received, even if the physician attends more than 15 total hours.  Physicians must apply individually, which requires a certificate of attendance, and a program schedule. Each medical doctor should check with his/her national medical association to see if the IADMS meeting can be applied towards Continuing Professional Development.  The 17th Annual Meeting (Thursday - Saturday) provides 17 hours towards CPD requirements.  Special Interest Groups Day (Sunday) provides 4.0 hours towards CPD requirements.

IADMS designates the 17th Annual Meeting (Thursday - Saturday) as fulfilling the criteria for 17 credit hours and Special Interest Groups Day (Sunday) as fulfilling the criteria for 4 credit hours in Category 2 of the Physician's Recognition Award of the American Medical Association (AMA: Chicago, Illinois, USA). Please note that Category 1 AMA credits will not be available this year.

IADMS is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc., (BOC: Omaha, Nebraska, USA) to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers (Provider #P3457).

  • The 17th Annual Meeting (Thursday - Saturday) provides 17 BOC continuing education units.
  • “A Day for Physiotherapists and Other Allied Health Professionals” provides 4.0 BOC continuing education units.
  • “A Day for Teachers” provides 4.0 BOC continuing education units.
  • “A Day for Dance Movement Researchers” provides 4.0 BOC continuing education units.

IADMS Certificates of Attendance will enable Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA: Melbourne, VIC) members to receive 1 credit point per hour towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.  The 17th Annual Meeting (Thursday - Saturday) provides 17 points towards CPD requirements.  “A Day for Physiotherapists and Other Allied Health Professionals” provides 4.0 points towards CPD requirements.

To receive a Certificate of Attendance for the IADMS 17th Annual Meeting, “A Day for Teachers,” “A Day for Physiotherapists and Other Allied Health Professionals,” or for “A Day for Dance Movement Researchers,” please complete the evaluation form found in your delegate packet and submit to the registration desk by Sunday, 28 October, at 3:00 pm.  You can request certificate(s) at the time of submission.

The International Association for Dance Medicine & Science adheres to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME: Chicago, Illinois, USA) standards regarding commercial support of continuing medical education. Presenters may discuss commercial products or services in which they have a financial interest or affiliation, but IADMS requires that presenters fully disclose any such interest or affiliation.  Disclosure of any commercial relationship will be made known at the conference.  All commercial activities and transactions must take place in the Exhibitor's area, in space that has been pre-arranged with conference organizers.  Other than these arrangements, all sales and advertising are prohibited.
