Sonoma: Birthplace of Winemaking Friday, October 15, 2004 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM You will begin your day with a visit to one of Sonoma's prestigious wineries such as Kunde, Benziger or Artesa. A private tour of the facilities will precede a stop in the tasting room where your guests will sample some of the winery's fine varietals. Next the motorcoach will whisk you to historic Sonoma Plaza, site of the Sonoma Mission and General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo's home. General Vallejo laid out the handsome Plaza, at eight acres, still the largest in California, and built military barracks at the northeast corner. Today unique boutiques, galleries, fine restaurants and charming cafés line the Plaza. Here your will have time to enjoy lunch on your own. You may also stroll through the Plaza, exploring the Mission, shopping in the many fine boutiques. You will enjoy a private tour and tasting at a second Sonoma Valley winery before the motorcoach returns you to the Holiday Inn. PRICE: $70.00 per person
Hollywood by the Bay Saturday, October 16, 2004 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Over 400 major motion pictures, and counting, have been filmed in San Francisco. Many movie historians make the claim that San Francisco should have been the center of filmmaking. Today, San Francisco's movie magic will come alive as you discover the shooting locations of many famous movies. You will see over 70 clips from both well-known and forgotten movies, made as early as 1915 to as late as 2001, including Vertigo, Dirty Harry, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Maltese Falcon. They'll follow the paths of the famous chase scenes from Bullitt, What's Up Doc?, and The Bachelor. As the motorcoach winds through more picturesque areas of San Francisco, your knowledgeable guide will point out where the stars have made their homes in San Francisco, and share insider's anecdotes about the Bay Area movie scene. At the conclusion of the tour, the motorcoach will return you to the Holiday Inn. PRICE: $45.00 per person |
