AMANZ  New Zealand arts medicine association.

ASEMEDA  Spanish dance medicine association (site is in Spanish).

Association Danse Médecine Recherche (ADMR)  This Monaco-based, Francophone association devoted to dance medicine and science facilitates sharing information among clinicians, therapists, artists and teachers to improve dancers' health and performance capacity (site is in French).

Ausdance  Australia's professional dance organization.

Benesh Institute  The international center for Benesh Movement Notation, a concise, accurate and versatile system for recording all forms of human movement.

British Performing Arts Medicine Trust  Information on this association, including a medical "helpline" for dancers in the UK.

Dance Kinesiology Teachers' Special Interest Site  Information for those who teach dance kinesiology, dance science, injury prevention and related subjects to dancers.

Dance UK  Information on this organization, which works to support and develop dance in the UK, including the Healthier Dancer Program promoting the health and well-being of dancers.

Dance USA  This organization "advances the art form of dance by addressing the needs, concerns and interests of the professional dance community."  The site includes "advice for young dancers," from elementary school to college.

dancescience.net  This not-for-profit agency, based in Luxembourg, delivers information and education programs in dance science in the UK and Europe.

Danz  New Zealand's dance organization.

Dutch Performing Arts Medicine Association (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Dans- en MuziekGeneeskunde)  Information about this Netherlands-based association (site is in Dutch).

Laban  Organization headquartered in London, UK, whose mission is to provide a vibrant centre of excellence for lifelong learning in dance and dance related activity, serving the community at a local, national and international level.

London Metropolitan University  BSc(Hons) Sports and Dance Therapy degree course, focusing on dance related injuries.

International Arts-Medicine Association (IAMA)  Information on this USA-based association (which is currently inactive and not accepting memberships).

International Organization for the Transition of Professional Dancers (IOTPD)  Information on this organization, whose mission is to alleviate the challenges that professional dancers face worldwide when transitioning to a post-dance career.  Click "Links" on the bottom of the site's page to access list of "Career Transition" organizations in United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, and the Netherlands.

Médecine des Arts  Information on this France-based association, mainly concerning music medicine.  Includes table of contents for past issues of the journal Médecine des Arts.  Site in English and French.

National Dance Association (NDA)  USA dance organization.

National Dance Education Organization (NDEO)  Information about this US group, which advances dance education centered in the arts, including the Journal of Dance Education.

National Registry of Dance Educators  Information about this US group, which provides professional support and services for those who teach dance in private studios and schools, so that they may provide their students with the highest quality programs and training available.

National Resource Centre for Dance  A non-profit national archive and resource provider for dance and movement in the UK.

Performing Arts Medicine Association (PAMA)  Information on this association, including the meeting held annually in Aspen, Colorado, USA, and the journal, Medical Problems of Performing Artists.

Performing Arts Medicine Bibliography  Articles on the health problems of instrumental and vocal musicians, and to a lesser extent, dancers.

Performing Arts Special Interest Group of the American Physical Therapy Association  Information on physical therapy as it relates to performing arts.  Contains a list of "Affiliations" for physical therapy students interested in studying dance medicine (last updated November 2006).

Prix de Lausanne  Information on this international competition for young dancers.  Includes a section on "Health" with tips for staying fit during a competition and information on osteoporosis (in English and French).

Royal Academy of Dance  The largest examining and teacher education organization for classical ballet in the world.

Safety & Health in Arts Production & Entertainment (SHAPE)  This Canadian (British Columbia) non-profit association dedicated to the promotion of workplace health and safety in the motion picture and performing arts industries has a large collection of books, pamphlets, safety programs, and manuals - most of which can be downloaded for free.
