Special Interest Groups Day


Objectives:

At the end of the Colloquium on Clinical Care of Dancers, attendees will be able to:

  1. Summarize knowledge about dance medicine and science that is clinically relevant and evidence-based.
  2. Describe current clinical recommendations for health and wellness in the following specialty areas:  sports medicine, rehabilitation, urgent/onsite care, nutrition, and sports/performance psychology.
  3. Apply clinically relevant musculoskeletal injury treatment information from dance medicine experts to their own practices.
  4. Appraise methods and designs for providing onsite healthcare for dancers.
  5. Evaluate criteria for dance wellness screens that can be used both clinically and for dance medicine research.
  6. Analyze elements of clinical outcome measures and functional testing items that also provide information usable for research purposes.
