Social Events


Please note that all social events require advanced registration as part of the online meeting registration process (via the IADMS Annual Meeting website). All events are open to delegates and their guests and are booked on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited space.

You must register by September 15, 2013.All events are subject to change. If sessions do not fill, they may be cancelled, and fees will be refunded. The kayak trip will take place weather permitting.

SANCA School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts – Flying Trapeze Class

Learn to fly on the trapeze during this 2 hour session with SANCA’s professional instructors. Class size is limited to 10 people per session. There is no waitlist. Two sessions are offered.

Session 1: 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Session 2: 3:00 - 5:00 pm

Fee: $45 US. Transport to SANCA will be via taxi (not included in fee) and will be arranged on-site by class participants.

Kayaking on Lake Union

A two hour guided kayak trip in 2-person kayaks on beautiful Lake Union. Participants will take the public transit #40 bus from in front of the hotel to the launch. Further directions to be provided onsite at the Renaissance. Tour size is limited to 30 people. First come, first served. There is no waitlist.

Time: 2:00 - 4:00 pm

Fee: $30 US (does not include the city bus fare to and from the launch site).

Pacific Northwest Ballet Rehearsal

The Pacific Northwest Ballet has kindly opened its doors to IADMS members to observe a rehearsal. Group size is limited to 25, and 2 sessions are offered. There is no waitlist.

Session 1: 2:00 - 3:00 pm

Session 2: 4:00 - 5:00 pm

Fee: $15 US. Participants will be bused to the venue. Bus is included in the fee. Further information about bus times will be provided to participants after September 15.

Cornish College of the Arts Dance Department

Open rehearsal of a site-specific dance created for three locations at Seattle Center by Salthorse, a Seattle performance collective. The performance locations are the International Fountain, Roof of Fischer Pavilion, and Skatepark. All three locations are just a few minutes walk from the Pacific Northwest Ballet's building. Audience members may attend for any length of time.

Time: 4:45 - 5:45 pm

Fee: $15 US. Participants will be bused to the venue. Bus is included in the fee. Further information about bus times will be provided to participants after September 15.

There are a limited number of places; space can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis when you register for the Annual Meeting online. Available only until September 15.
