How To Paste Text from Microsoft Word

Please be careful when you paste text from Microsoft Word into your forum post, especially when using a PC.

If you use the standard “copy and paste” techniques, you will also insert “gibberish” (i.e., Microsoft Word formatting codes) into your post.  This “gibberish” will appear at the beginning of your post, obscuring your content.  Follow the instructions below to eliminate this problem.

To insert text from Microsoft Word using the IADMS editor features:

  1. Copy your text from Word
  2. Click the “Paste Plain Text” button in the editor (circled in red in the image below)
  3. A pop-up window will open
  4. Use CTRL+V to paste your text into the pop-up window, then click the “Paste” button
  5. Your new text, unformatted, will appear in your post; format it as you desire using the editor buttons.

To insert text from Microsoft Word using shortcuts:

  2. Right click inside the IADMS editor
  3. Select "Paste as plain text" from the menu
  4. Your new text, unformatted, will appear in your post; format it as you desire using the editor buttons

  3. Your new text, unformatted, will appear in your post; format it as you desire using the editor buttons
