Meeting attendees will arrive at Sea-Tac International Airport, located 15 miles (24 km) south of Downtown Seattle. International flights arrive at the South Satellite. Passengers first clear immigration and then pick up their checked luggage and proceed to customs. After clearing customs, passengers put their luggage on a high speed conveyor for delivery to Baggage Claim. They then head to the Main Terminal to pick up their luggage on Carousel 1 in Baggage Claim. The immigration and customs process usually takes 30 to 60 minutes.

Ground Transportation from Airport to Hotel

Downtown Airporter (855) 566-3300
The Downtown Airporter shuttle picks up and drops off passengers at the inner drive curb on the third floor of the Airport Garage. It departs twice an hour from 6:30 am - 8:30 pm to the Renaissance Seattle Hotel and other downtown hotels. Reservations are recommended.

Rates: $18 US (one way); $33 US (roundtrip).
Gratuity is not included – the customary gratuity for this type of service is 15%.

6:00 am - 8:30 pm: Leaves Sea-Tac Airport approximately every 30 minutes. Hotel pick-ups start at 4:55 am.
8:30 pm - 6:00 am: Service on-demand during off-peak times, reservations are recommended.

Cabs (Yellow Cab) are available on the third floor of the parking garage. Sedans and large vans are available. For information, call +1 206-622-6500 or visit their website at The drive from the airport to downtown takes about 20 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

Rates: Approximate cost for one-way cab from the airport to the Renaissance Seattle Hotel is $40 US.

Link Light Rail
Warning: The Renaissance Seattle Hotel is located at the top of a steep hill. Although the light rail station nearest to the hotel is only 0.3 mile (0.5 km) away, a significant portion of the walk is uphill. Therefore, use of the Link Light Rail is not recommended.

The Sea-Tac/Airport Station is connected to the fourth floor of the airport garage. The Link Light Rail service runs from 5 am to 1 am Monday through Saturday and 6 am to midnight on Sundays. Trains arrive and depart every 7 to 15 minutes, depending on the time of day. Cost from the airport to University Street Station is $2.75 US (one-way). Travel time to the University Street Staion is about 30 to 40 minutes.

Directions from University Street Station to Renaissance Seattle Hotel:
1. Walk southeast on 3rd Ave.
2. Turn left at Seneca St.
3. Walk northeast up a significant grade on Seneca St.
4. Turn right at 4th Ave.
5. Walk southeast on 4th Ave.
6. Turn left at Madison St.
7. Walk northeast up a significant grade on Madison St.


Limousine (STILA)
Stationed at the airport, STILA offers town cars, SUVs, and stretch limos and picks up passengers either at the curb outside of Baggage Claim or on the third floor of the parking garage.

To arrange for a limousine or town car, use the touch screen to access "Ground Transportation" on any of the Travelers' Information Boards in Baggage Claim (located near the escalators), use curbside phones, or go to the Ground Transportation Booth on the third floor of the parking garage. Parking (at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel)*
On-site parking: $32 US per day; tax additional.
Valet parking: $38 US per day, tax additional.
Vehicles over the 6 foot 1 inch height are valet parked off-site for $38 US.
*Parking taxes not included in daily rates.

Entry Visas
All foreign visitors entering the United States must be in possession of a valid passport with an entry visa.

Some foreign visitors do not require entry visas, but special conditions must be met, including possession of a valid "Electronic System for Travel Authorization" (ESTA) approval. Delegates should consult the U.S. Department of State website for specific regulations: and
