Local Information

Welcome to Pittsburgh—a city of 90 neighborhoods, three rivers and year-round fun! A vibrant, mid-sized city with the feel of a small town, the strength of Pittsburgh lies in the friendliness of its people and the beauty of its landscape. Spend time in Pittsburgh and see why everyone, from the Travel Channel to National Geographic Traveler, is raving. Conde Nast Traveler named Pittsburgh one of the “Top 15 Places to Go in 2015!” We’ve got it all—great food, outdoor adventure, history at every corner, tax-limited shopping, a thriving cultural district, and our familiarity with Stanley and Lombardi makes us a sports lover’s dream.

WELCOME PITTSBURGH Information Center and Gift Shop
Fifth Avenue Place, 120 Fifth Avenue, 1st Level

Hours: Monday-Friday: 10 am-6 pm; Saturday: 10 am-3 pm; Sunday: Seasonal

WELCOME PITTSBURGH features a variety of Pittsburgh merchandise from souvenirs like postcards, magnets and pens to products from local attractions including the Carnegie Science Center, Frick Art + Historical Center, Pittsburgh Glass Center and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. WELCOME PITTSBURGH is your one-stop shop for information and that special something for the folks back home!

Downtown Pittsburgh has many dining options. In the immediate area surrounding the hotel and conference center you will find several good lunch spots, many with a “sports bar” theme due to the close proximity of the CONSOL Energy Center (hockey arena). Within a relatively short walking distance you can find the area called “Market Square” with a variety of lunch spots, bars, and restaurants. The Cultural District is also nearby with many other good restaurants. Your best options for meals and entertainment lie west of the CONSOL Energy Center (walking towards the central business district and “point” of three rivers).

Almost all restaurants in Pittsburgh will accept credit cards. It is accepted that a 15% to 20% gratuity be added to all meals. Please be aware that if you are dining with a large party, some restaurants will include a gratuity on the bill, so check for this before you pay so that you do not add another tip.
